OK.....now you can find one of these spots in any neighborhood in New York, but this one I take a BUS just to get some of what they have to offer. Need to feed yourself or a family of four (4) and foe CHEAP!, well this is your place. It's called
La Isla Cuchifritos.
No formal seating but a few stools to sit only but just the view from the window will make your mouth WATER. Feed your whole family for about $20 bucks! Don't get intimidated when you walk in if you don't speak Spanish because the workers here are all friendly and speak enough English to understand you. Try the roast chicken w/ rice and beans if your unfamiliar or if you have some understanding of Latin cuisine try the tripe and pigs feet soup. Don't forget to wash it all down with some coconut juice or tamarind juice!
